Frequently Asked Questions

What materials do you use to make your hair sticks and earrings?

I use a variety of materials.  The sticks are mostly teak wood, although some are
made of other woods and materials like bone and pewter.  I use beads made of
glass, crystal, stone, ceramics, pewter, silver, etc.

Why are some items not available in multiples?

Many of the beads I obtain are one-of-a-kind or bought in small batches.  Therefore,
some of my designs can not be reproduced.  If you see something that you like, but it
has already been sold, I will do my best to make you a similar item.

Do you sell wholesale?

Yes!  I am happy to offer my creations wholesale.  Please contact me if you are
interested.

I am interested in having something custom-designed.  How does
that work?

It is very easy!  Simply contact me  and let me know what you are hoping for.  I may
ask you a few questions.  I will then do my best to design something that suits you
and email you photos to preview and approve.

What does AB mean?

AB is short for Aurora Borealis which is another name for the Northern Lights.  AB is
used by jeweler's to describe a finish that can be applied to faceted glass and crystal
beads.  AB gives the bead a beautiful, iridescent quality.  If a colored (or clear) bead
has an AB finish, it will not only show it's color (or clearness) but will also reflect
brilliant, soft rainbows of color when the light hits it at certain angles.

What is Swarovski ?

Swarovski (swore-off-ski) is a company in Austria that produces some of the world's
most beautiful beads.  Their special process creates components that have
incredible brilliance and are in high demand.  They cost a little more, but the results
are worth it!

Don't be fooled by imitations! Blue Moon Artistry only purchases beads from
reputable suppliers.  You can rest assured that if we say "Swarovski," you are getting
genuine Swarovski Crystals.

What is Cats Eye?

Cats Eye are fiber optic beads made from fibrous lengths of colored glass.  The line
of light reflection in them moves as the bead or light is moved.

Why do some items cost more than others?

Items are priced as affordably as possible.  However, some materials cost more and
some items require more time to make.  I try to offer a selection that will fit in
everyone's budget!
